Fairlane Elementary

While my boys attended Fairlane Elementary, I donated to most events and volunteered         in as many occasions as possible.

One of the most popular attractions at the Fairlane Elementary Fall Festival was the space room.

This replica of ET was built of movable arm and head. The surface was covered with thin Laytex film. It was a very successful part of the fall fundraiser. Over $600 was made, the very first day, from admissions to touch the lit finger and to get a hand full of Resse's Pieces.

OH! and she actually had bubbles coming from her magic spell bottle!!

AUCTION FOR THE ARTS

The Macon County Arts Council sponsors one large fund raiser each year. Art donations come in from all over the county. I try to come up with new ideas each year to do my part. I usually donate a couple of old pieces plus a demonstration piece from that year's Arts in the Park plus a collaborative piece hand built by my very talented teenagers. The high energy event raises a nice sum for the council. It also gives the community a chance to enjoy great food, usually catered by a local restaurant, music from a very talented local family and conversation not only about the works up for auction but how the garden is doing this year. Oh, and the auctioneer is a hoot and free, that helps.

Totem Pole

This collaborative work was
created by my wonderfully, talented Teen Clay class
entitled 'Totem Pole' and was part of the 2013
Auction for the Arts.

Each year, Arts in the Park demonstration pieces are
auctioned off at our annual Auction for the Arts event.
They are usually a very big hit!
